Not a lot of activity here, but what is here is great information. Hopefully I can learn and contribute.
I bought my current 2005 Impala in 2013, and currently have 250k miles on it. I've kept it mostly stock, but taken some opportunities for upgrades as opportunity arises. I've done intake manifold gaskets, replaced the plastic cooling elbows with aluminum, added the thicker police package radiator. I've had to replace the starter, the ignition lock cylinder, and transmission shift solenoids. The leather started to tear, and our local part puller had some seats available for $50 each that were solid, and even included a power heated passenger seat upgrade! Right now I'm in the process of replacing the fuel pump, which on my car requires dropping the fuel tank. While I have the car up on block for that, I also got some upgraded suspension parts (solid trailing arms, GMPP front and rear sway bars, struts for 18" wheels) and am attempting to replace the leaky oil pan gasket. I also have some 06-13 front brake calipers I'm going to try to install, but if I can source some decently priced 18" wheels, have some of the larger Cadillac calipers from an 05 STS I might try.
The car is lots of fun, and has plenty of options for customization, so I think I'll hang onto it for a bit longer!
