1. Apply the Vista Theme
Download and install the Vista 2025 Edition Theme. It includes modern Aero transparency, Vista-style window borders, and color accents.
2. Install the Start Menu + Taskbar Mod
Get the Vista Start Menu Style 2025 Pack. This modifies your Start button, layout, and taskbar appearance.
3. Customize Icons Using 7TSP
Install 7TSP GUI, then apply a Vista-style icon pack (often included with the theme pack or find one on DeviantArt).
4. Enable Explorer Blur/Mica Effects
Use BlurMica to bring back the glossy/blurred background effect in File Explorer. Works well on Windows 11 with Windhawk support.
5. Install Windhawk for Runtime Patching
Download from Windhawk.net. It allows live memory patching for various system tweaks (required for BlurMica and other visual enhancements).
6. (Optional) Enhance with Additional Tools
Use WindowBlinds if you want a themed UI layer with rollback support. Add 8GadgetPack for a full Vista vibe with sidebar gadgets.
7. Reboot & Enjoy
Restart your PC to finalize all changes. Your Windows 11 desktop should now look like a modernized version of Windows Vista!

- Always create a restore point before major system mods.
- Some AV tools may flag 7TSP as unsafe — it’s a false positive if downloaded from trusted sources like DeviantArt.
- After major Windows updates (like 24H2), you may need to reapply some tweaks.
- Don’t mix multiple theming methods (e.g., msstyles and WindowBlinds) unless you're experienced.
