This guide explains how to bypass the fuel pump on a Pontiac Grand Prix GT to keep it constantly running. This modification should be undertaken with caution. Ensure you follow all safety precautions and consult a professional mechanic if necessary.

Tools & Materials Needed:

- A small piece of wire (e.g., speaker wire or similar)

- Basic knowledge of the vehicle's relay layout

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Locate the Relay Panel:

Open the hood of your Pontiac Grand Prix GT and identify the relay panel, which houses the fuel pump relay.

2. Access the Relay Layout:

Find the fuel pump relay within the relay panel. The relay layout should be labeled on the panel cover or in the owner's manual.

3. Prepare the Wire:

Take a small piece of wire, such as a thin piece of speaker wire. Ensure the wire is stripped at both ends to expose the metal.

4. Connect the Wire:

Insert one end of the wire into the relay socket at the appropriate location. For the Grand Prix GT:
- Place one end of the wire into the designated slot for the fuel pump relay.
- Place the other end into another designated slot to complete the circuit.
Make sure the wire is securely in place.

5. Test the Setup:

Turn the key in the ignition to the "On" position. The fuel pump should activate and stay running. Now, turn the key off. The pump should continue to run, indicating that the bypass is successful.

6. Verify the Modification:

Double-check that the fuel pump remains running when the key is off. Ensure there are no loose connections in the relay socket.

Important Notes:

- **Safety First:** Modifying the fuel pump wiring may have unintended consequences. Ensure you’re working in a safe, ventilated area away from flammable materials.

- **Legal Considerations:** Check local regulations regarding vehicle modifications, as some changes may not comply with emissions or safety laws.

- **Reversibility:** Make sure you can easily reverse the modification if necessary.
