Hello everybody!

As many of you may know, I’ve decided to take on Version 2 of my LFX-swapped Monte Carlo project! This time, I’ll be working with a 2006-2007 Monte Carlo as the base, and a 2012-2016 W-body Impala as the donor vehicle.

This thread will document the entire process, including:

• How everything is done

• The parts I’ll be gathering over the winter (to get a head start for spring/summer)

• Suspension, interior, and all the upgrades

The ultimate goal? 300 WHP with a fully upgraded suspension, a custom interior, and everything completely functional (well… except the HVAC, lol).

Here’s a list of almost everything I want to do! Probably forgot some stuff, but it’s mostly there.

Engine

Tune
Intake
Mace cams
Mace valve springs
Intake plenum spacer
High flow downpipes
Throttlebody swap
Underdrive pulley
Oil cooler from police impala
solid motor mounts

Transmission

Big Cooler
Shift kit
Tune
Swap to 6t75e
3.16 gear swap
Solid transmission mount

Brakes

12.7 inch 4 piston brakes
12 inch rear grand prix gxp brakes
Goodridge stainless braided hoses
High quality complete fluid flush

Suspension

tubular subframe
Front strut tower brace
Rear strut tower brace
tubular rear control arms
tubular front control arms
front sway bar
rear sway bar
coilovers
Tubular rear subframe
Solid front subframe bushings

Exhaust

Cat delete
magnaflow catback

Wheels/tires

18x9.5 +35 offset rims
265/40/18 pilot sport 4s tires
Might need 10mm spacers

Interior

Led interior lights
Aftermarket seats
Rear seat delete
Equinox steering wheel
Complete HVAC delete
Complete audio system overhaul

Exterior

Paint underbody
00-05 Monte SS HS front end swap
New headlights

Stick around and follow along—it’s going to be a hell of a build! Can’t wait to share the progress and hear your thoughts along the way!

I’ve already started gathering parts for this project, and there’s plenty more to come! Here’s what I’ve got so far:

• 12.7-inch 4-piston big brake kit (front)
• ZZP front and rear sway bars
• Stainless steel brake lines
• Front and rear strut tower braces
• And a few other goodies I’ll reveal later!

Below is a picture of most of the parts I’ve collected so far. Stay tuned as the list grows and the build takes shape—this is just the beginning!

I'm really excited to see this build. I loved that last one but didn't get to see much of the details.
