Tools and Materials Needed:

- Speed Daddy headers kit (including gaskets and hardware)

- Socket set (metric and standard)

- Wrenches (metric and standard)

- Jack and jack stands or a lift

- Penetrating oil (e.g., PB Blaster)

- Exhaust sealant (optional)

- Torque wrench

- Pry bar

- Safety goggles and gloves

Step-by-Step Instructions

Preparation

1. **Safety First:** Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical issues. Ensure the car is on a flat, stable surface. Use a lift or securely raise the vehicle with a jack and place it on jack stands.

2. **Apply Penetrating Oil:** Spray penetrating oil on all exhaust bolts, especially those on the manifold-to-cylinder head connection, the crossover pipe, and the downpipe bolts. Allow it to sit for 15-30 minutes.

3. **Remove the Stock Exhaust Components:** Disconnect the oxygen sensors. Be careful not to damage the sensors or wiring. Remove the stock downpipe and catalytic converter. Unbolt the stock exhaust manifolds from the cylinder heads and remove them, along with the crossover pipe.

Header Installation

4. **Prepare the Headers:** Verify that the Speed Daddy headers kit includes all necessary parts, such as gaskets and bolts. Inspect the mating surfaces for any imperfections, and clean them if needed.

5. **Install the Front Header:** Position the front header on the cylinder head, aligning the bolt holes. Hand-thread the header bolts to avoid cross-threading. Then, tighten them to the manufacturer’s torque specifications using a torque wrench.

6. **Install the Rear Header:** This step may require extra maneuvering due to space constraints. Use a pry bar if necessary to help align the header. Hand-thread the bolts and tighten them to the recommended torque specifications.

7. **Install the Crossover Pipe:** Connect the crossover pipe between the front and rear headers. Ensure a snug fit and proper alignment with the provided clamps or bolts.

8. **Install the Downpipe:** Attach the downpipe to the rear header and connect it to the rest of the exhaust system. Use exhaust sealant on the connections if recommended.

Final Steps

9. **Reinstall Oxygen Sensors:** Reinstall the oxygen sensors in their respective locations on the headers or downpipe.

10. **Check for Clearance:** Inspect the headers and exhaust components for clearance around the engine bay, especially near wiring, hoses, and the subframe.

11. **Reconnect the Battery:** Reconnect the battery once all installation steps are complete.

12. **Test for Leaks:** Start the engine and check for exhaust leaks at all connections. Tighten any bolts or clamps as needed.

13. **Road Test:** Take the vehicle for a test drive to ensure proper performance and listen for any unusual noises.

Tips for Success:

- Use anti-seize compound on the header bolts to make future removal easier.

- Double-check torque specifications for all bolts.

- Plan for additional modifications, such as a tune, to optimize performance gains from the headers.
