2013 c300 build thread

One of the first actual “mods” I did besides just changing the marker lights and grille was change to a set of new wheels, wider, much lighter than OEM, aodhan aff7 18x8.5 +35 all around, also paired them with a set of 255/35/18 tires, they are cheap tires for right now since winter is coming very soon but work great, next summer will be using some high quality summer tires like some Michelin PS4S’s

After the wheels I got myself a set of DEPO/USR headlights, I love these because they are full LED and have a super bright turn signal switchback that works as a DRL during the day, massive improvement over the factory lights in looks/light output

Then I got the BC coilovers, would’ve gotten higher end but sadly for the awd mercs like mine these are basically the best you can get without spending 3500/4k$ on a set, they work extremely well though, one of the few BC kits that actually have good spring rates for the vehicles

Ended up making my own strut brace, can’t see it very well in my pics but it’s reinforced from the back, all thick steel and the bend down to the mounting plate is solid steel, extremely stiff and changed how the car reacts to input and feel a BUNCH

After the strut brace I made myself a fenderwell intake, mainly did it for sound but since it’s a shorter run than the factory box and bigger diameter it actually helped a bit, plus the IATS where 20-30° cooler even after an hour or so of driving and even cold while sitting. Although this will be gone when it gets swapped, might give it to a buddy who also has a c300. You can see in the pics I opened up the fake grille for airflow to it, sealed up the fenderwell, and have a protective bag on it, it gets PLENTY of air.

There is some more stuff I’ve done like the rear shock brace, converted the entire car to LED lights, grille, secondary cat delete, but don’t really have pics of it anymore, there will be much more posted in the future though, some of it very soon when I order more stuff and it arrives like:

Front polyurethane suspension bushings
Front big brake kit
Rear polyurethane suspension bushings
rear subframe completely solid bushings
M276 DELA30 swap (twin turbo 3.0)
Completely new exhaust from the turbos back
Some interior QOL mods
List goes on…. But there will be plenty more things I will keep doing to this car.

Goal is 400 whp with the twin turbo v6 and an all around fun car that can go to the track and put down impressive times, thank you for reading and stay tuned for the future stuff!

I love this! Once it's done, I want to take a ride in this car. We need to sync up next spring or something.

lol was messing around in the engineering mode settings last night and got the suspension screen and off-road screen turned on, funny part is both work, but I have disabled the off road and left the suspension screen because the g force meter is pretty cool

Hey guys,

Haven’t updated this thread in a bit, but I wanted to share some progress! I just ordered an OpenPort so I can start coding a few features into the car.

The first things I’ll be adding are:

• AMG Menu: This will display real-time data like coolant temp, oil temp, transmission temp, and a few other useful metrics.

• AGILITY Mode: Essentially a “Sport+” mode that sharpens throttle response and overall driving dynamics.

• MANUAL Mode: This mode gives full control over the gears with the paddle shifters, also making them way more responsive. Unlike the stock setup (which upshifts automatically if you hit high RPMs or drop too low), Manual Mode lets you hold gears as long as you want.

These aren’t game-changing features, but they’ll be super nice to have for monitoring temps and enjoying more control over the car.

Let me know what you guys think!

Hello everyone, I just got my Openport, and I have finally added some new features to my car: the AMG menu, manual mode, agility mode, and the display for how many gallons are left in the tank. Here are my impressions of each feature:

AMG Menu:

This one is my favorite addition. It looks great and is super functional. It shows live temperatures, a built-in lap timer, and the drive mode/ESC status. The live temp monitoring is especially useful for keeping an eye on the car in real time. Overall, Im very happy with this feature.

Gallons Left in Tank Display:

This one is okay. Its not super useful, but it’s kind of cool to see exactly how much fuel is left in the tank. Definitely more of a novelty than anything practical for me.

Manual Mode:

Ill admit, Im a bit disappointed here. I learned after enabling it that cars with factory paddle shifters (like mine) do not get any improvement in paddle response time, as they already have quicker shifts compared to non-paddle-shifter cars. It does provide a bit more control over gear changes, but it wasnt the upgrade I was hoping for.

Agility Mode:

This is basically Sport+ mode. It makes the car drop gears with less throttle input and hold gears longer after letting off. It’s nice, but not a game-changer for me.

Remember Last Driving Mode:

From the factory, these cars default to Eco mode every time you start them. With this feature, the car now remembers the last driving mode it was in when shut off. For example, if you turn it off in Sport mode, itll stay in Sport mode the next time you start it. This has been surprisingly convenient!

Final Thoughts:

If I were to do this again, Id probably skip manual mode and agility modes as they weren't worth it for me. That said, the AMG menu is fantastic, and Im really happy I added it. The gallons left display is more of a novelty, but it’s not bad to have.

I think it's a nice upgrade, Its a very clean look too. It sucks you cant do much about the paddle response time.
