many of you may know about this, although some might not know, about a year or two ago i decided to LFX/6t70e swap my 2003 monte carlo i had. i used a 2013 impala lt as the donor vehicle, the engine (LFX) is a 3.6 liter v6, many hate on the 3.6L but they do not realize that the LFX came out and fixed almost every single issue the older 3.6 had (ly7, ltt) timing chains being the big one everybody hates the 3.6 for, the lfx is a great powerplant because from factory it makes 300 horsepower n/a, is lighter than the 3800 being all aluminum, and can be modified to great power numbers with not to many mods (400+ crank horsepower is very possible with simple mods like intake, new catless downpipes, tune, intake plenum spacers, and a set of cams.) the transmission (6t70e) is great because you get two extra gears in a transmission much stronger the the 4t65e while being smaller. i swapped almost everything from the impala to the monte carlo and almost every single thing was a direct bolt in! (engine, trans, subframe, fuel tank, all fuel lines and brake lines, wiring, fuse blocks, entire dash assembly and interior wiring, and much more!) if anyone has any more questions i can answer them most likely, main reason i got rid of the car was body was rough and starting to develop serious rust. will include some pictures that i may still have

These are some of the interior pics during/after the swap, steering wheel was from a 2008 equinox 😂

altogether it was a fun to do swap and pretty damn quick lol, wish i wouldnt have done it to such a clapped out car but oh well, i was 18 and wanted to do it really badly. maybe someday ill redo it with a clean-body monte but no plans for it in the future, currently my uncle owns it and he has put 20k+ miles on it since the swap with no issues! great car and glad i did it but i moved on to other platforms, thanks for reading and hope everyone likes it!

It was a cool project, shame the rust got to it. Definitely would like to see a LFX Monte 2.0 someday.

I would love to see this car in person and make a cool video about it.

LFX Lumina
That would be a fun car.

Good job !!!

Btw I’ll be doing a v2 of this build next year, 06-07 Monte body and interior, 00-05 front end (I like it better) and 3.6/6t70e, this time it will be much more polished and better, everything will be done to it this time, stay tuned, I already have a pile of parts and am ordering more and more for it so I can redo the entire suspension/brakes right away. Below is a pic of SOME of the stuff I already got lol. this time I’m going all out with it, goal is to have a very very good handling LFX swapped Monte that I can take to autocrosses and track days, but still drive on the street.
